Customer Support put the phone down

Hi Virgin Media,

Customer Support has just put the phone down on me.

To let you know a little bit about me, I'm a software developer for the last 15 years with two degrees, one in applied mathematics and the other in computer science.

The problem:

The modem/router I have from you is now dropping wifi connections. I want a replacement.

I got through to your tech support who then put me through to customer support who wanted to charge me for the replacement, NO! They wouldn't let me speak to a manager and then put me back to tech support who then drop the line after hello!

Get this sorted today!

Martyn

P.S your online chat is always busy and your phone queuing system is the worst in the business

Re: Customer Support put the phone down

No mention of any trouble shooting done by the op.

WiFi can drop or degrade for many reasons. Other networks being on the same channel, non wifi devices transmitting on the same 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz bands. Placement of the superhub and so on.

Try changing the Wifi channels on the superhub.

Re: Customer Support put the phone down

hahahahahahaha.

I've done all that and more, I have a spectrum analyzer for real trouble shooting.

Virgin media just needs to replace there equipment, I'm not replacing it for a service I'm already paying ~£45 a month.

Also no call back from there manager what was stated.

Been with VM for over 8 years, lost track to be honest and they can't do anything for long term customers.

Definitely something wrong with an education system that awards two degrees to someone who can't differentiate between 'there' and 'their' twice in a single post.  Ah well, Little Britain, what what!    Smiley LOL

Re: Customer Support put the phone down

Hi beast1812,

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting.

Sorry to learn that you are having issues with the wireless connection and for the experience when calling through to us.

I've managed to locate your account, the line and hub are showing as fine.

Does this happen on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks?

When the wireless disconnects do the lights change on the router at all?

Does the device still show as connected?

Do you know if the wired connection works ok?

Let us know how you get on

Sam
