Re: Connection issues

Are you using a wired Ethernet connection to the VM hub or a wireless connection? Wireless is easily disrupted by a number of external factors, so knowing if a wired device drops out helps to pinpoint if the issue is with the wireless or your line.

If wired connections are dropping then some hub stats might help diagnose the issue.  Go to http://192.168.0.1/ (or http://192.168.100.1/ if you are in modem mode) to get the VM hub GUI. Don't login but instead click on Router Status which is either a button in the top right of the screen or a text link at the bottom of the screen depending on which hub you have. Click on the Downstream, Upstream and Network Log sections and copy & paste the figures from those screens and post them here, don't worry about the formatting or you can post screenshots if that is easier. Be careful to edit out or obscure any reference to your WAN IP in the log to protect your privacy.

The community can have a look for you and see if anything in the figures looks wrong and advise accordingly. Or you can wait for the VM staff to pick up this thread (can take 7-10 days) and run checks on your line.

Re: Connection issues

I am using the wireless. It is everything that disconnects at once and reconnects after a few seconds

Ironically it's done it as I am trying to post this ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: Connection issues

Power levels look OK and the only error in the log is from a month ago, so no obvious reason for dropped connections.

To be clear, when you say everything disconnects is that both wired and wireless devices or just everything wireless?

Re: Connection issues

I run 5 devices from it(not all at once) all wireless

PS4 iPhone iPad nowTV laptop

When one thing disconnects it's like the router/connection has reset and takes a few seconds to reconnect.

Means I can't go online with PS4 or laptop/nowTV drops mid stream for a few seconds

Can see on laptop that it disconnects, searches, reconnects then gains internet access

Re: Connection issues

It could be wireless interference, or a fault with the wireless on the hub, that is why a test with a wired device would be a helpful diagnostic to see if it gets disconnected or not.

VM will suggest trying different wireless channels, they have a guide here.

There is also a sticky post at the top of this board with good advice:
