Connecting a Cisco ip phone to hub3.0

Has anybody connected a Cisco ip phone directly to a hub 3.0 previously with the super hub the only way that I could make the phone work was to switch the superhub into modem mode and adding another wireless router without the firewall restrictions.

thanks

Hello clubman22,

Welcome to the community, great to see new members Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your IP phone. As legacy1 said, this has been complicated for a while.

Have you tried reserving the IP address of your phone and then applying it into the DMZ rule?

You might need to continue using a 3rd party router if you're still struggling.

Speak soon.

Maybe DMZ to rule out some stuff but deffo not something you should do all the time, security and all that.

May the force be with you,

HUB 2ac in modem mode, Netgear R7800 Router, a wee switch & NAS.

Re: Connecting a Cisco ip phone to hub3.0

All VM have to do is to enable the telephony functions in theHub 3 - like is done in other countries.

Why haven't they done that? Is it because they'd have to train support people and lay out some dosh for that? Allied to this, could it be that they want to sweat the POTS telephone system they have wired to each property? £19/month for an outdated telephony system from millions of customers might be very tempting.
