Cannot get access via superhub. All ports forwarded ie 80 and 5001 as per dvr but scanning via wan address says they are closed. Firewall set to low and dvr in dmz. Do i have a faulty hub also intermittently drops wifi and internet connection.
Sorry to read you are having an issue with the setup of your CCTV DVR and the broadband connection.
With the CCTV, if I am honest, I am unfamiliar with this type of setup. However you can try a factory reset of the Super Hub and turn off the firewall within the router to see if that will help. Has this worked before or it is a new setup?
In regards to the intermittent connection, I am unable to see any issues on the network that would cause this issue. Do you notice any lights change on the router at this time?
Can you post the network log from the settings please for us to check over? To do this type in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar, no need to sign in, on the top right you will see router status. Within here you will have network log. You can copy and paste this information, that would be great.
Thanks for that, the log seems to be looking okay, the DHCP entities are not actually a fault as it is just down to how we rebind... or not the IP. Your actual connection is looking good, we do have an issue with high peak time traffic in the area F004357616 and this may sometimes seem that the connection is freezing or very slow etc, I wonder if it is that. The review date for upgrade work is currently showing F004357616, please accept our apologies.
Did you manage to get the port forwarding sorted? I found ShieldsUP to be quite helpful in the past.
No unfortunately the menu on the hub says they are open but again when scanning from mobile it says they are not open. Could it be a software problem with the hub? Reading on other forums they seem to point in this direction which I can do nothing about.
Tried the Shield up that came back with the same result ports 80 and 500 are open even though they are set up in port fowarding which leads me to conclude there is a saftware fault within the router and isn't easily fixed from my input so down to Virgin.
I have used port forwarding on all VM routers without any issues. Though I have always had my firewalls off. Never liked the Superhub/Hub firewall. My CCTV DVR is currently on a static IP on my Business line but worked fine before on my Hub3, Superhub 2AC and SuperHub 2 without any issues.
100Mb(SH2 SH2AC Hub 3.0), 100Mb Business 5 Static IP (Hitron Hub) TiVo V6 Full House TV Sky Q Entertainment, HD & Box Sets,
I have superhub 2 and found that sometimes even though you add the port forwards, refreshing the page they disappear. I also have found in the past that they don't work properly until you reboot the superhub, although that isn't always the case either. Bit of trial and error required sometimes it seems
Sorted the problem it was the 2 addresses on the dvr primary dns and secondary which you have to google as not listed on hub menus. Setting the port fowarding and then restarting sorted issues. Thanks for everyones input.
