Cant Connect Roku to Superhub wired or wireless - Please help!

Hi Guys,

Please help - hours and hours of chat and phone support from Roku has not solved my problem.

I can't get Roku to connect to my local network - either wireless or wired.

Set up:

    - Roku 2 XS
    - Virgin Media Superhub Netgear VMDG485

During the setup phase I get the following error messages:
- Wireless Connection

    - Can't Connect to your wireless network. Verify that the wireless router is turned on and your entered the password correctly. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive (error code 014)

-Wired Connection

    - Can't Connect to your local network. Confirm that your router or access point is on and working by attempting to connect using another device. Confirm the router or access point is not restricting access (error code 013).

Here is a list of the troubleshooting I have tried so far:

    - Soft reset
    - Hard reset
    - Disable any access restrictions (MAC/ IP)
    -Disable security including password
-Enable 'Respond to ICMP echo requests sent to WAN IP'
-Change wireless network channel (several times)
-Return to shop and get a new Roku!!!

I have a hunch that there is a access setting that I need to change as I can see the Roku in the list of items that is connected (when using the wired config).

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

Cheers

Mike

Re: Cant Connect Roku to Superhub wired or wireless - Please help!

I've got mine, the Roku 2, working again.

It seems the Super Hub v2 doesn't like it when a new client tries to ping the gateway on DHCP.

To fix that, you can go into a secret menu on the Roku and disable network ping and you should be able to use your Roku without a problem.

On the Roky remote press:

Home Button x 5
FF x 1
Play x 1
RW x 1
Play x 1
FF x 1

Then choose "Disable network pings", then "Back"

Try your network again, and it should connect to the local network and internet.

Hopefully this helps anyone who has been having problems with the Roku and Superhub v2.

Re: Cant Connect Roku to Superhub wired or wireless - Please help!

Had my old modem/router replaced with a superhub v2 and I'm having the same problem as you guys. I'm using a Roku 2 XS. Was working fine before using the old router's wifi connection.

Not impressed if I can't get this working.

Re: Cant Connect Roku to Superhub wired or wireless - Please help!

I've got the same problem - new virgin router and suddenly Roku has gone. I restored to factory settings in the Streaming Stick, and now can't pair the controller, so can't try the secret codes suggested above... Any ideas??

if you can't pair the controller you will need to check with ruku then when that is fixed the code works.

I had the same problem with the ruku lt but disabling pings worked
