Broadband not usable / MDD timeout / No Ranging Response in TW9 area

Hi all,

My broadband doesn't work - I'm posting this on my phone hotspot! Installed a couple of weeks ago, I get constant timeouts and 'no ranging response' errors in the log (see below). I'm on the 200mb service.

I called up and an engineer was booked, only to be cancelled (they didn't tell me!) and when I called up the next day they said it was an area wide issue... (Area 03 / TW9).

My modem stats also seem to be on the low/poor side for the downstream (see below).

But the upstream seems fine... (and when I can get connected intermittently, I see 12mb upload on speedtest, and below 1mb (0.06mb) downstream on the last test. Most of the time it doesn't work at all.

Should I be pestering VM to get an engineer out to look at this? Does anyone know what the issue in the area might be?

I'm getting really frustrated. Does anyone have experience of ending their contract due to poor/no service? I'm only 14 days in, and so far have been unable to use the broadband at all!

Your downstream power levels and SNR are too low and the upstream is a tad high. You may need an engineer to investigate further.

You will need to contact VM for resolution, either by waiting here a few days until a VM Forum Team Member picks up the thread, or give them a call on 150 from a VM line or 0345 454 1111 for a quicker response.
