BQM (Broadband Quality Monitoring) Graph , whats going on here then ?

Vivid 300 connection and Hub 3.0 ... its looking a bit "spikey".

How can the latency be reduced ?

That's bad. The green bit should be around the 15 ms mark and the blue bit (average latency) should be down below the 20 ms mark (as is the case on mine).

The VM bods need to tell you if there is congestion in your area (maybe not looking at your speeds), or if there is a line impairment (again, not evident if those are your regular speeds).

Maybe then you should post the modem power levels (CHECK ROUTER STATUS)

The amplifier is passive and shouldn't affect latency. Maybe also your stats if the HUD is not in line as well as a BQM.

Hi pyrotenax,

Thanks for the info, downstream power levels look a touch on the high side, I'd like to run a few real time checks from this end, though as your last post wasn't from your home connection I've been unable to locate your account.

Drop us a quick update from home and we'll gladly run some further diagnostics on your service from here.

Cheers

It gets worse with the member of downstream channels you are on, you are on the max of 20 so you get the highest.

Hello pyrotenax

Thanks for getting back, now you have posted from your home connection we have managed to identify you.

As Ralph mentioned power levels to the hub on the higher frequencies are a bit too high so best we let an engineer take a look and take it from there. I will send you a forum private message to arrange an appointment, please reply when you have a moment.

Incidentally it looks like you are in modem only mode with your own router, possibly Asus? I did try to traceroute/ping your WAN IP to see if I could see where the delay started but got no response, have you turned off ICMP responding? I wonder if it is worth popping the hub into router mode to see what the BQM looks like (your IP will change so you will need to update BQM if you try it by the way)

Thank you

Nicola
