Another wifi dropout issue

I have been working from home for a while on a laptop connected via wifi and noticed my connection appears to drop often.  I didn't think this was a big issue, thinking it was the works network.  However, since I have been using some apps on my phone and playing the odd game or two on the desktop, I can see this occurs a number of times per day.

I've changed the channel on the network a number of times as there are a few that aren't being used near by.  I mainly use the 2G due to signal strength, but the 5G also has issues.  I've even sat in the room directly opposite the router, less that 5 meters away and the problem still occurs.  I was hoping someone could see if there were any issues from the following logs:

Re: Another wifi dropout issue

Hi there Gobbo,

Thanks for posting and a big welcome to the community Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to hear about the wireless connection problems you're experiencing, I know how frustrating this can be.

I've just taken a look and I've noticed that there's currently an open maintenance ticket present in your area. As a result of this you might notice that your connection is intermittent but this should be resolved by around 4PM this afternoon. Would you please post back to us in a day or two with an update, this maintenance might do the trick, but if not we will happily investigate further.

I appreciate your patience,

Take care.

Re: Another wifi dropout issue

Hi, thanks for responding to my question. However the problem still exists. It has been there for a while.

However, I have 2 places in the house where wifi doesn't reach, so to fix that issue I bought a Netgear Orbi which has resolved that issue and I also get fantastic wifi speeds all over the house.

It also appears that going via the Orbi network my dropout issue has also been resolved.

So thank you again for your time, but I will just not bother using the Virgin Wireless now.

Re: Another wifi dropout issue

Hello Gobbo,

Thanks for the update Smiley Happy

It's good to know that you've noticed a significant improvement by using a 3rd party router. I do apologies that your Hub wasn't able to provide the coverage throughout your home.

Appreciate you keeping in touch.

Thanks again.
