200mbs fibre ?? <1mb d/l : Lost MDD Timeout

Shocking download speed of under 2mb, ok upload of 12mbs; wired to my PC.

Are MDD timeouts a thing? Anyone know why? Or even what they are??

Network logs just full of Lost MDD Timeout serval times a minute. Phone tech support and they a) wanted to screen share and b) couldn't even do that because of the terrible speeds!

It's not always been this bad so I don't see how sending me a new SH3 will help - it must be a physical wiring problem. I don't want to seem ungrateful and all, but..

Will a SH3 fix it?

More to the point, will all my SONOS kit work? I thoguht I read that there were some issues with Sonos & SH3?

Sure sucks when the broad band fails. Might have to start tehtering all my kit to my 4g phone..

Your downstream SNR is too low, which looks like a local VM issue. The Hub 3 should make a nice paperweight.

You will need to contact VM for resolution, either by waiting here about a week until a VM Forum Team Member picks up the thread, or give them a call again on 150 from a VM line or 0345 454 1111 for a quicker response, personally, I would wait for a reply from the Forum Team.

I'm on 150mbs (fastest in my area), but otherwise getting same problem.  Rebooting significantly increases download speed, but this soon settles back to the miserable numbers you're showing.  Online test by Virgin says my hardware OK.

Thanks for the views and posts - someone has fixed something somewhere, because the latest speedtest suggests 250mbs down and 15 up.

Power levels up, SNR still about 35db but error counts in the hundreds, not hundred thousands. Some T3 errors reported in the logs last night at 21:30ish and this morning everything seems hunkey dory.

I know, lucky me / fires up netflix /
