Poor customer service

[ Edited ]

I have been with virgin media for years and also ages for mobile and I love the cheap deals but the customer service has always been a drag. Recently though, it's been getting worse. Last week I got a new tariff which was sold to us as having free spotify premium for 3 months. The handset included took more than the promised 24 hours to deliver and was only delivered after speaking with customer services 3 times! First we waited 48 hours for the phone and still did not turn up so we gave customer services a call. They said we had not payed and to dispatch the handset we would need to pay, however, before we could do anything about it they ended the call. Next time we called they passed us to the courier that delivers the handsets and they said they couldn't do anything about it and hung up. Then, the next day we called them and the handset was dispatched but because of Christmas didn't arrive until December 28th. Today I remembered the free spotify they promised me and called them and asked how to get it. The first time the rep said she would see what she could do then hung up in the middle of the call. I called again and the rep this time said there should be a code in the box with your phone. I could find no such code and he said that they had a problem with spotify (not specific about exactly what). The third time the rep took me to a link in their website in which I would enter my phone number and get a pin via sms. I entered my number and it said I was not eligible for free spotify (even though my contract was sold with it). The rep then said she needed to speak to a member of the team who was only in on monday. (today is a sunday) I will post what happens when I speak to this rep tomorrow. Overall, I am appalled at how they have treated me. I am paying for this contract and should get what is sold to me!  :smileyfrustrated:

Poor customer service

Hi there,

I phoned the customer service line on Sunday 12th february as my V-box has stopped working. The box won't turn on. When I called the customer services line I was informed that I would receive a call back as the cost of the call was substantial - this was offered by the gentleman who I spoke to and he asked to take down my mobile number. However, I have not received a return call. In addition the gentleman could not provide assistance whilst I was on the phone, and I was left waiting for long periods whilst the conversation went silent. My call was at 14:14. I would be very grateful if someone could assist me further in this matter.

Kind Regards,

Thomas Harris

Poor customer service

[ Edited ]

Yor service and your staff are a total disgrace, I have a friend who lives in Essex Pitsea to be correct and today she asked to switch the account to her name or open a new account that you agreed to she explained that she was disabled and that she had a assist system on her phone so a loss of service overnight would not be safe for her so what do you do like with many of your customers ignore there requests and do just what you want to Customer Service what a joke you whole company is a total disgrace obviously you have a preference to treat those who are ill and disabled with total disrespect you ever heard of DDA Disability Descrimination Act that is inforce but comapnies like yours have total disregard for it yet another customer will now leave your shoddy service that offers poor service and discriminates against the disabled bet there will be no reply from the so called custmer service to this one either what a joke yet another useless Virgin Company

Trickiejohn before you say this is in the wrong forum I will post it in the other forums as well also the member of staff she spoke to was rude and totally unhelpful just typical of the poor service that you are offering customers some things never change do they

Re: Poor customer service

Punctuate please. Very difficult to read. I hope you didn't talk that fast on the phone. They probably couldn't write it down quick enough! I am of course joking. I'm very sorry to hear of your experience.

Hi PatrickJV,

I'm sorry I don't quite understand your query. Is it a contract or payg phone in someone else's name that your friend wanted to change to their name? What services, did they say would be out of action?

Many thanks.

Oddly as no one can actually decipher the message that you want to get over I will not be surprised that no one will answer your post unless you break it down into something a tad more legible with the relevant needs and requirements listed.

Also if this is an issue which requires someone to speak to your friend with the requirement to clear DPA then they will need to call the relevant Customer Service.

Re: Poor customer service

Can someone please help me, for some odd reason (it may just be me) I cannot locate virgins support email address or submitting a question/complaint online. Further to that when I phone for support I can never get through to anyone. In the end I have sent a letter in the post but I'm not expecting a reply anytime soon.

I was with Sky before and I know they are not great but at least support is always available on the phone, email and internet chat.
