Bundles don't work

After topping up, just tried to add the data bundle as featured on this page:

http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/genericContent.do?contentId=payasyougo.airtime.bundles.shop.sm034

Sending an SMS of "BUY 1GB DATA" yielded response of: "Sorry, but that isn't something we offer. To take a look at what's available, just visit virgin.com/mobile".

Then ringing 789 and going to the bundles menu revealed no data bundles at all, and all the ones available on this line are completely different to the ones advertised on the website.

Very disappointed, as I would've used another network had I known that this data bundle doesn't exist. Seems like misleading advertising to me.

Re: Bundles don't work

It dependes on the type of PAYG deal you are on :smileyhappy:

If its an old deal call 789 and ask to change to the Addict farrif (still not tied in and no minimum spend or any other small print to worry over)

then after the phone getts the message confirming its changed - send the text again :smileyhappy:

Re: Bundles don't work

Thanks for the advice, but I'm already on the Addict tariff (just checked)... although nothing on the bundle webpage mentions the necessity for being on this tariff anyway.

Re: Bundles don't work

the call centre can add this for you

It is designed to be user operated, sadly it seems to be flawed

I hope you have this resolved now?

Re: Bundles don't work

No, I did email them with my issue, they emailed me back on Monday morning asking for my number - I responded same day, but have heard nothing since.

Cheers, but my opinion is that it should "just work" especially as clearly advertised on the website that you just have to top up and text something to get the bundle.

I emailed because I don't see why I should be out two bob for Virgin Mobile's fault, and they might not even fix it after calling anyway.

Did expect a reply quicker than 3 days to be honest.

Re: Bundles don't work

Just thought I'd mention that I received no response to my e-mail enquiry last Monday, and it's been a week now.

Thanks for the numbers (not sure why I didn't think of looking on Saynoto0870 for them!), but just now I have forwarded my e-mail to Neil Berkett, so hopefully I'll be getting a response very soon.
