Virgin Media Account App

My Galaxy S2 phone has just updated the Virgin Media Account app and now when I access that app I can open up but can't close it - it freezes my phone so I have to switch it off.  I have uninstalled and re-installed twice.  Can anyone help?

Go to setting, apps, my account, tap on my account, tap on storage, scroll down, clear cache and clear date, reboot switch off wifi, use the app choose to use wifi, switch wifi o

It's the phone not cleaning up after the uninstall

Hi John,

Thanks for the advice which I followed however the Virgin My Account app still freezes my phone.  I uninstalled the app several times in an attempt to get it to work but no luck.  I have rated the app on my phone but see that I am not the only one having this issue.   A fix from Virgin is required I think.

Sorry to hear about the issue with the My Account app on your Galaxy S2.

 

To get this sorted out for you I'd like to ask a few questions.

 

  • Does it happen with any other apps or just the My Account app?
  • Is Android 4.0 or above installed on your handset?

Thanks for your reply.  This is the only app that freezes my phone and has only started to do this since an update to the app - I assume.  My phone runs on Android version 4.1.2

Do you have a back up of the older working version? If so try reinstalling that, otherwise as you know you'll need to just uninstall and relay on using your web account

No I do not have access to the older version of My Account app, so I will, as you say uninstall it and access my account via my web account.
