if the account in question is Pay As You Go then there is no problem.
The account holder just needs to contact customer services (free on 789 from the Virgin mobile) 0345 6000 789 from any other phone.
If the account in question is Pay Monthly then it's not possible to transfer the contract into another person's name.
This is because the account holder will have been credit checked and agreed to be legally responsible for the account.
If it is 30 day rolling SIM only plan, then notice can be given. At the end of which it will become PAYG and then transferred.
If it is a longer term contract. At the end of the minimum term it will revert to a 30 day SIM only plan and then can be transferred as above.
