Switch from GiffGaff to Virgin Rolling Monthly

I'm considering switching to Virgin rolling monthly from Giff Gaff rolling monthly.

If I place an order for a SIM from Virgin, at what point does my contract begin?

Basically I want to be able to use up the rest of my month with GG as I just paid for the next month's worth yesterday.

I'd also like to keep my number, I assume Virgin offer a service for this.

Hi AAAdamKK,

if you apply for a Virgin Mobile SIM only contract and pass the credit checks your contract will start then (although you will have a 14 day cooling off period should you have a change of mind).

This being the case, in your circumstances I would not apply to Virgin until nearer the expiry of your GiffGaff allowance.

Contact GiffGaff just before and request a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code).

This code remains valid for 30 days so you'll have plenty of time.

Once you have your new Virgin SIM you can then contact Virgin Mobile customer services free on 789, give them the PAC and they'll transfer your old number to your new Virgin SIM Smiley Happy

Here is a Virgin guide on the subject: Keeping your number

Re: Switch from GiffGaff to Virgin Rolling Monthly

this is to make it simple for you

Keep your phone number when you leave giffgaff. If you are leaving giffgaff for another mobile provider, you'll probably want to keep your phone number. To transfer your number, you will need to give a Porting Authorisation Code to your new network.

Re: Switch from GiffGaff to Virgin Rolling Monthly

You ask Giffgaff for a PAC code, give it to virgin they swop you over

PAC ( port authority code) have a life of only 14 days, so choose when you ask for one and pass it to Virgin

You need to pass a credit check for the rolling 30 day sim only deals so be aware that Virgin are harder than most to pass
