Still getting bills after cancellation

Hi I cancelled my contract back in November, and I used the sim for the next 30 days (end dec) I got a bill end of January, so rang to see why, they said that the cancellation hadn't gone through and I owe them £23. I paid the amount and was told I won't get any more bills and that the contract has been cancelled (as before) I received another bill today for the sim! For Jan to Feb I don't owe this the sim was inactive from Jan to Feb and wasn't used.. It isn't my fault the sim wasn't cancelled back in November when I first called.. I shouldn't owe anything I'm not happy at all surely this isn't right, Virginia have been great for the past 4 years, but since leaving it is a nightmare
