Pay As You Go Sim

Hi,

I have a virgin pay as you go sim card which was originally a monthly roll over sim only contract. I converted it to pay as you go back in august 2015.I still hold that sim card but  I haven't used it since aug 2015. I wanted to know

1) If I top up that sim with some balance will I be able to use it again? as I don't know if it will still work..

2) can I top up and still not use the sim for another few months, will the sim and the mobile number still belong to me?

3)Once I top up can I use that sim abroad? Do I have to activate roaming services? How much would that cost me?

Re: Pay As You Go Sim

Hi 07828,

Is the SIM still active?

Have you tried it in a phone and does it connect to the network?

Usually if no chargeable event (call ot text) has been made from a SIM in any 180 day period the account will be closed and the number recycled.

Re: Pay As You Go Sim

Thank u Alex for your reply
I will try if the SIM card is active or not
But when I changed it to pay as you go I was clearly told by Virgin media advisor that the sim will remain active for 12 months of after that no calls or txt is made it will be recycled
Now what u are telling me is only 180 days n I really need to keep this mob no
What do I do next if the sim is not active?
How do I get my number back?
I didn't know this would happen other wise I would have used my sim before the time limit.pls help
Thank u

Re: Pay As You Go Sim

Hi 07828,

it's in their Service Terms and Conditions

On older tariff SIM's it's only 90 days Smiley Indifferent

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
They're not too strict on this time limit because I've had a few pay as you go SIM's in the past which have remained active well past their time.
