Incorrect - data usgae

I had a message this morning telling me that I have used up 75 % of my data allowance (1.5gb within 3 hours 8am-11am). I was busy at work this morning so I wouldn't be able to use my phone to browse. I then called up and the guy said its the update of the phone, I told him I set it all to download when connect to WIFI only. The guy keep saying it was me myself used up all the data but it didn't make sense to me. I then searched online and found out network providers do steal data off customer. Could that be the case with VM ?

Re: Incorrect - data usgae

Hi kitkityeah,

could it be that if a download has begun over WIFI, if the signal becomes weak that it will then continue via mobile data?

You should be able to check your mobile's data usage in the settings of the device itself:

Settings > Data usage > Mobile data - this will then show you what has been using it and how much.

Re: Incorrect - data usgae

Thanks for the reply and I don't think that's the case. As I set all the update/ download only process when connects to WIFI. So I don't think it will still process the download without WIFI. The data usage jut look suspicious to me and may be there's some error frm VM itself?

Hi kitkityeah,

but have you checked the record of usage on the device itself as I suggested?

Does that tally with Virgin's records of your account?
