Cannot connect to Virgin network, suddenly

Hi,

I woke up today to find that my PAYG phone had no service, so I tried to reconnect and all I get is this message: 'Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network'

I don't understand this, as it was connecting fine until today.

Help appreciated - thanks in advanceSmiley Happy

Hi Maceddie,

 

when did you last make a chargeable outgoing action?

(Just checking that your phone hasn't been disconnected due to lack of use).

Do you have access to another phone to contact customer services? 

Free on 150 from a Virgin Media landline / 789 from another Virgin mobile. 0345 6000 789 from any other phone (standard rate call).

I made a call to another mobile a few days ago, and have been on the internet on and off since then. I don't have access to another phone at the moment, otherwise I would have called support by now.

have you gone into the phone's settings and done a manual network search for Virgin and tried connecting?

When you do a manual search does it list EE or does it list "Virgin" or "virgin"?

When did you get the phone? And where from?

The handset might have been barred if it's been reported lost or stolen?

Hi,

Nothing that serious!

Everything is fine now. I went down to the Virgin shop in Abington Street, Northampton today (well yesterday, now), and my phone is working again. It seems that the sim card was just so old it had given up the ghost. My account was transferred to a new sim card by Louise, free of charge, and now the phone is working as before - (thanks Louise!)
