Cancel Pay Monthly Contract

Hi there,

Last week I ordered a data sim only for my mobile. I received the sim and a direct debit notice a few days ago. I have now changed my mind and want to cancel. In the mail, it stated that I have 2 weeks to do so.

I just called Virgin and they told me this number wasn't registered yet (which would make sense since I still haven't opened the package), and that in order to cancel the contract, I just didn't need to activate it. So, I just made a contract with virgin, I received the sim card and direct debit notice, but it will all be cancelled as long as I don't use the sim card.

Is this correct?

Thanks for your help,

Eric.

Re: Cancel Pay Monthly Contract

Get in touch with your bank and cancel the direct debit.  Write to Virgin and confirm that you are not going ahead with the contract as per the 14 days allowed.

Re: Cancel Pay Monthly Contract

Thanks Pendle666,

Yes, I already cancelled the direct debit, but writing to virgin is a bit more tricky. Can't seem to find an email address. Do you mean writing a physical letter?

Cheers,

Eric

Hi Eric,

that sounds like good advice from Pendle666, just to be on the safe side.

Unfortunately there is no email address but you can write to them here:

Virgin Media
PO Box 333
Matrix Court
Swansea
SA7 9ZJ

Re: Cancel Pay Monthly Contract

Thanks everyone for your answers.

At the end, I just called back the next day and got a different answer. They actually had to cancel it, so in doubt, always call back!

Cheers,

Eric

Re: Cancel Pay Monthly Contract

Actually it's never that simple. Just received a second letter saying I have an outstanding balance....... Although I had cancelled everything within 2 days (so long before the 14 days grace period).

It's just annoying to have to deal with Virgin's mess.

Mike, I m sending you a PM. Cheers.
