30 day rolling contract

Hi everyone,

Is there a notice period to serve when cancelling a 30 day rolling contract or is it instant. I have tried 3 times on the phone but each time have been told to wait 24 hrs and call back or promised u would receive a call back later that day.

As I am not getting anywhere I have just cancelled my direct debit. Are Virgin staff poorly trained or told to deliberately lie to customers? Just wondered if they open there doors each morning and pick people off the street each day and get people to answer the phones in return for a cup of tea and a biscuit?

Re: 30 day rolling contract

Hi MarkRoxy123,

you just need to give 30 days notice of your intent to cancel.

You've probably been told to call back as the team that deal with cancellations / retentions, don't work Sunday.

(Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sunday Closed.)

Re: 30 day rolling contract

Presumably they don't work Wednesday, Thursday or Friday either as that was when I have tried previously. I guess those were the staff who took pathetic offer of a free cup of tea and a biscuit! I will give notice in writing as isn't possible via modern technology! Do they accept post via pigeon or is that too advanced? God knows how Branson expects to get to space!!

Re: 30 day rolling contract

Hi MarkRoxy123,

you can give notice in writing:

Virgin Media
PO Box 333
Matrix Court
Swansea
SA7 9ZJ

Be sure to include all your details and be clear of your intent.

Your 30 days notice can only start from Virgin's receipt of this letter.

(I don't think it prudent to cancel your direct debit beforehand.)
