All due respect Nat_J but offering to "help with my enquiry" is no use to me. The question still stands. Why can't Virgin Media call a customer at the time they promised?
By the way, I was on hold for 88 minutes that night, supposedly being put through to a manager, who immediately cut me off as soon as he/she answered the phone. Great.
