Hi kath On trying to log in normally I get a message saying my username or password is wrong, then get this message when going through the forgotten username option, We are not able to set up your my Virgin Media account at the moment. Please try again later, or you can also set up your my Virgin Media account at the time of your broadband

The account holder details are the ones that will need to be entered. As I'm not getting the same issue as you, this means the account is working as it should be.
Give the team a call on 150 / 0345 454 1111 and they can set the account up with your partner over the phone. There are some questions needed to be set up when registering so they wouldn't be able to do this with you.
