Upgrading my Virgin Media router

Hi,

We currently have a new Virgin Media router with our 50mb package, it's one of the ones that offers both 2GB and 5GB wireless.

However it only has 4 x RJ45 connection on the back. Is it possible for me to get a Virgin Media router that has 6 or 8 ports?

OR can i just buy a third party router such as NetGear?, will it work OK with my Virgin Media service?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading my Virgin Media router

The hub is the hub. They don't do ones with more ports so you will need to get your own components to deal with the extra need.

3rd party routers will work fine (a lot of us on here use them)

Re: Upgrading my Virgin Media router

Hi there mestizomad,

Many thanks for your query.

Unfortunately, as mentioned by Shafreya, we do not offer equipment with a larger amount of ports. You can, however, certainly follow the above advice and seek to connect a third party router to our modem.
