Unpaid debt due to moving house

Hi

I have an unpaid debt due to moving home because they don't cover my new address. Surely this isn't fair? If I just wanted to cancel, I could understand but they cancelled it because I can't get Virgin in my area.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? The debt is nearly £300 which I can't afford and it's not even my fault...

Thanks

Re: Unpaid debt due to moving house

If you are in contract and move to an area which is not serviced by VM, you incur EDF's (Early Disconnection Fees). If you dont pay them (your final bill) it will create a debt which may well be passed to a debt recovery agency.

I'm not arguing that's "fair", just setting it out like it is.

There may be extenuating circumstances- you were forced to move for whatever reason- which you should engage with VM and point out.

Otherwise, its an enforceable debt.
