Poor customer service

Just want to see if anyone else has had poor customer retention offers as I have just had to cancel my contract after being a loyal customer for years. I have now decided to share my experience and see what other people think.

I phoned up to initially to reduce services and see what better deal was on offer. Even after asking to reduce my speed and remove my phone extras as I did not need them I was offered £35 a month which is actually MORE than I am currently paying. Asked to go directly through to cancellations/retentions team which was denied. Explained that Vodafone were offering the reduced deal I wanted for £23 a month but still told £35 month best  Virgin would do so I gave my 30 days notice to cancel. I have since found out the Virgin are offering my original contract deal for only £26 month to new customers.

New customers always get a better deal as you have found with Vodafone

Thanks thought loyalty counted for more but Virgin don't seem to care about long term customers anymore and I'm sure I won't be the only one who feels aggrieved by this.
