Leaving Virgin so hard

I have been with Virgin broadband for over 6 years and decided to move home. Where I moved there is no Virgin services, so I phone them up and gave them 1month notice. Lady on the phone said: Its ok we will get you your final bill soon. Month later I am recieving another bill ( not final one ) to pay even more !!! Contract has not been canceled yet. Why it is so hard to leave Virgin ??? I have heard about it but could not believe it until now !!! Tomorrow will have to spend another 40-60 minutes on the phone trying to explain everything. If I won't get sort it tomorrow, belive me, I will be all over internet describing my experience with Virgin in details

Re: Leaving Virgin so hard

Yeah I've experienced difficulty in leaving virgin media as well.

I asked to leave approx 18 months ago and the guy straight up told me I will lose my telephone number if I leave and there's no way to get it back to BT.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour considering the telephone number was on BT for at least 30 years before I switched it to Virgin.

Re: Leaving Virgin so hard

Hi salatur,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you have decided to leave Virgin Media. Is there anything we can do to change your mind?

When you give your 30 days notice to disconnect, the account will continue as normal until the disconnection date. This means your billing cycle will also continue as normal.

On your disconnection date the services will stop and a final bill will be produced a few days later. This will include any refunds, adjustments and charges. If the overall amount shows as a charge, you'll need to make this payment via a credit or debit card as soon as possible. If there is a refund showing then we will send you a cheque for that amount.

As well as the final bill, you will receive some packaging to return any equipment you have. There will be instructions on how you can return this to us in the pack.

I really hope you do re-consider leaving us and if there is anything else we can do for you, let us know.

Take care,
