Whilst chatting to a friend today, he told me he has virgin Broadband and TV but no phone line,
I said I was told I had to have phone line as well has BB & TV,
So I`ve been paying for phone line I never needed since 2011,
Is there anything I can do about it IE REFUND

They don't do refunds - you accepted the contract.
all you can do is leave when it ends, but check what your friend is paying. Virgin structure their bundles so broadband only costs almost as much as a basic BB + TV + phone deal
