Is speed boost free?

Is this speed boost free, there does not seem to be reference to charges anywhere.

Re: Is speed boost free?

It is free, it goes through the generic ordering process to check you have the right equipment (namely that you dont have a superhub1 if going to 150Mbs or 200Mbs).

If you do need a superhub upgrade it is a £5.99 one off delivery charge.

Re: Is speed boost free?

Kwaboy, what is your current package?

The free upgrade should be a banner at the top of the screen when you log in to MyVirginMedia.

Failing that you should ring up 150 and speak to retentions to see if they can process it there.

Re: Is speed boost free?

I'm currently on 100mb? The email offered to move me from 100 to 150 FOC and to click the banner on the email which I did but it took me to my homepage

Re: Is speed boost free?

Manually log in to the MyVirginMedia part of the website using the link/ log in at the top of the page. See what comes up.

Have you made any package changes since last October? Or asked for discounts? This doesn't necessarily have to be broadband, it could be for TV too etc.

Re: Is speed boost free?

Every if you do nothing you get the free speed boost which is just what happened to me nice currently not fully adjusted my speed limits but I'm in no rush.

VM do over time up the cost of the service but nothing to do with the free speed boost.

Re: Is speed boost free?

Yep. Because you changed your package (even though its nothing to do with broadband) you have become ineligible for the speed boost now.
