I'd wait until after Xmas. VM offices will close at around 4 pm today so unless you can get through on the phone before then on 150/0345 454 1111 - select broadband faults - you'll have to be patient until next Wednesday. Phone is always quicker for this kind of thing.
The Forum Team can arrange for a tech to come round an replace the cover but it'll take them more than a week at this time of year to get round to this post and sort it with you.
