Has anyone actually ever actually received the £50 referral credit?

I saw online that loads of people never receive the £50 friends referral credit so I did mine very carefully and followed the rules - but I've just received my first bill and Virgin are refusing to give it to me. I have called them and used online chat but they keep giving vague excuses and then hanging up (twice) or disconnecting the chat.

Has anyone actually ever been paid? Or is this just a false offer which they use to hook you? If so that's pretty vile, not to mention the appalling customer service by lying to me and then cutting me off. Interested to hear from anyone?

Re: Has anyone actually ever actually received the £50 referral credit?

I've referred a number of friends since I signed up with Virgin Media and although it is too soon to say whether every single one has paid out, I've had a few come through already (without having to ask or chase up).

Re: Has anyone actually ever actually received the £50 referral credit?

Hi ambergrush,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear that you've not received your refer a friend credit Smiley Sad

There is a specific process in place for referring customers. The existing account holder needs to pop in their friend's details via this page here: Refer A Friend This then generates an email to both the existing and new customer confirming the referral. The Friend then needs to join via that email. Unless this is followed, no link is made between the 2 accounts.

Checking your account I'm not seeing any link on there to show you've been referred. Have you still got the email showing the referral? If not check with the person who referred you. If they have this we can look into this further for you.

I have sent you a private message with some information on where to go from here.  Just click on the little plum envelope at the top right hand side of the page to access your inbox.

Thanks,
