Cancellation of account before installing

Hi.  I was due to have broadband installed but a week before installation it was postponed by VM due to " construction issues ". i.e there is no cable in my street!!

I know, your thinking how can they sell you broadband in a street that isn't cabled?

my sentiments exactly.  Anyway, after being told that it would be a minimum of 6 weeks before installation ( local authority permission for construction etc ) I decided to ask them to cancel it altogether as I need broadband for my work and they said that if I cancelled it then nobody else in my street would be able to get broadband because I effectively would be cancelling the construction lol!

 

So it's my fault now! Anyway, many weeks on, my account is still active and showing TBC for installation even though I requested they cancel it.

anyone else had this issue and did it get cancelled eventually?

I wouldn't worry about it you can cancel up to 14 days after installation, let them cable the street and then cancel (again) that way your street is cabled for anyone else who may want Virgin
