£20 upfront fee

I just joined virgin 3 weeks ago and just been cut off. I was told it was because of an unpaid bill. Checked my account and it says im new and haven't been billed yet. I rang virgin and apparently I have to pay a £25 upfront fee. I was never told about an upfront fee when I joined and cant understand why they cut me off without any warning after 3 weeks. I have been told they wont put my service back on untill I pay it but they dont seem to be able to tell me what its actually for. Can anyone help please?

Re: £20 upfront fee

Hi Ally2275,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community.

Usually whenever a £25 payment is required before the first bill is generated it's because a Direct Debit was set up but since been cancelled.

If a payment was needed upfront then this would of been required before installation.

If you haven't got your Direct Debit set up, then give the team a call and we can advise further on what the charge is for.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,
