Removing redundant telephone sockets

I was switched by Virgin to fibre phone via Hub 3 last year. I'm about to renovate a room which has a now unused BT telephone socket. Can I simply remove the socket, cut the cable and make good the plasterboard before redecorating?

Landline not working

Line cord error. Please Check. I cannot make or receive calls. I just get the error message above. Phone is connected via wall socket, not hub.

Landline home phone

Resolved! Port of old tel number to virgin

Having service activated on Monday 24 feb and received text saying my tel no will be 0208xxxxxx which is not my old telephone number from NowTV. But when i signed up I requested my old telephone number be ported in and transferred to virgin.
