I am still receiving anonymous calls despite subscribing to anonymous caller rejection. I received one at 4am and another at 11am today
When I dial 1471 I get the following message: "Sorry the last call was from a network that was unable to transmit numbers".
I need the phone on in case there is a family emergency so unplugging every night is not an option.
I changed my phone number a month ago as I was receiving calls in the middle of the night and now it's started again.
Why are these callers still getting through and how can we stop them?

Hi Peaches
Can I direct you to the thread [http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Telephone/Nuis
This should give you a little further information.
Thanks

No doubt because it's not in this country. I'd put money on it.

Thanks Gavin, but that thread offers no new information.
My number is registered with the TPS and I have Anonymous Caller Rejection. I am receiving unsolicited phone calls at 4 o'clock in the morning which is totally unacceptable. The caller's number is not given.
We have had this number for about a month.

Hi peaches
I'm sorry to hear of the problems you are having with unsolicited nuisance calls. Unfortunately we cannot prevent incoming calls unless they are from a caller who has withheld their number.
If you are continually being called at unacceptable times in the morning you need to contact our customer services department. They have a procedure for dealing with nuisance calls and can arrange to change your number if you feel the situation warrants it.
You can contact customer services by dialling 150 from your virginmedia line or by calling 0845 454 1111 from any other line.
Thanks

is there a way you can get your number changed as we keep getting pestering calls and we cant afford to pay any more than what we are already to get this caller rejection lark as we are spending slightly over r budget as it is any help or advice would be grateful and if i did get the caller rejection if we could afford it they would start ringing with there number showing and we dont want them to contact us at all

This is my THIRD number! We changed the original as I was getting nuisance (ie pervy) calls. The second number, we had for 2 weeks as I was getting so many wrong number calls it was bizarre. This third new number was registered with the TPS from the get go and I get these anonymous calls at all hours.
I'm not changing my number again. If they can't filter these calls then I'll get rid of the home phone and use my mobile instead.
I don't believe it is fair for me to have to spend more money buying gadgets to stop being disturbed at 4am every other morning. I pay Virgin a lot of money for my TV, Broadband and Phone package and therefore expect this to be remedied.
