1571 message waiting indicator

I have just purchased a new corded landline phone which has a wee red light that is supposed to light up when a voice message is received, this is to save lifting the receiver and listening to the dial tone every time I walk in the house which I must say would be a god-send if it was supported by virgin phone network

Does virgin support this feature?

Re: 1571 message waiting indicator

I would assume not? Does it have a built in voicemail would it be for that. I guess theres only one way to see plug it in and leave a message

Re: 1571 message waiting indicator

It does not have built in voicemail only a button with 1571 written on it which is supposed to flash when a message is received. It is a Bee Tee phone which I assume will only work on their network since I have left messages and still no light :smileysad:

Re: 1571 message waiting indicator

In some areas the stuttered dial tone (which indicates a voicemail message has been left) is much faster than on BT exchanges. If you are in one of these areas (definitley the red area) the indicator probably will not work.
