XulRunner

Running Windows XP, Virgin Media Security version 9.  Had probs with VMS so ran Diagnostic Tool.  Getting results saying XulRunner service is not correctly installed.  How do I fix this?

Re: XulRunner

Hi bonkers82,

In all honesty, I have never experienced this error before and XulRunner looks to be a Mozilla Firefox development so not sure why this is appearing on your VMS.

My advice would be to uninstall your current VMS package and re-install our latest version.

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: XulRunner

How do I uninstall VMS?  have previously tried using the Add/Remove Programs.  Have also tried redownloading it via the VM website but dont see where I can actually install.  Do I download radialpoint security 9 or 10?

Re: XulRunner

Did you use Internet Explorer or another browser to download VMS?

I believe that to download VMS correctly it is recommended that you use a version of Internet Explorer, allowing 3rd party cookies when you do so, and not any other browser such as Firefox or Safari.

Xulrunner is a Windows file created by Mozilla Foundation. The file is usually found in Program Files aptraptrclient\xulrunner folder.

To remove VMS download the removal tools (see http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Internet-security/Virgin-Media-Security-10-FAQ/td-p/910393) and run the Uu-RpsUU.exe file. Then run the Spduu-4.1.16.exe file.

Restart your computer between running the files.

If you are still unable to completely remove VMS then download a copy of the free version of Revo Uninstaller from here: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Re: XulRunner

Have successfully removed VMS.  When I go to the Virgin Media site and go to MY Apps, I select the security and click the download button.  I then am told my "download is ready".  How do I then install VMS again?

Re: XulRunner

Hi bonkers82,

Once you have clicked the next button within My Apps, there should be a yellow button which says download. Is this button greyed out? Does a download notification appear within your browser?

If you are unable to download the service manager via this method please can you call in so we are able to arrange a call back for you; we will have to use a direct downloader in order to install service manager.  In my experience, this is a browser/computer issue and the root cause is not always consistent.

Kind Regards,

Oliver C
