Website Wrongly Blocked by PCguard as Fraudulent Web Site

We are Virgin Broadband customers using Virgin PCguard. My partner has recently purchased a domain name to showcase his art. He was going to start working on the website but found that the domain name has been wrongly blocked as "potentially fraudulent". This is the message that comes up:
>>>
Virgin Broadband PCguard Warning -
Fraudulent Web Site Detected

Your Virgin Media PCguard service has identified this website as a potentially fraudulent site.

URL: http://emrysfen.com/
We recommend you do not visit it.
Also, for your security, you should delete any emails from this site.

<<<

We have contacted Virgin Media to report `a false positive' and that the website is being wrongly blocked. So far we haven't had a reply nor confirmation of the emails we've sent!!!

My partner was hoping to work on his arts website over the next few days and this block is causing great inconvenience.

What is more disturbing is that Virgin Broadband PCguard is saying that his website is fraudulent, which it isn't!!! Surely, such false allegations are tantamount to libel and defamation of character??? We are considering taking legal advice about this.

We want this resolved by Virgin Media as soon as possible and we would like answers why this action was taken in the first place.

Being Virgin Media Broadband customers and users of Virgin Media PCguard, we have often come across this PCguard Fraudulent Website Detection warning on other websites - even well-known ones such as ebay! Surely, there is something seriously wrong with the PCguard system that it is falsely blocking reputable websites???

If we switch off Virgin Media PCguard, we can access the website (which has still to be built). It's only Virgin Media PCguard users that are blocked from visiting. Those using other internet security software such as Norton don't have any problems.

If there is a representative from Virgin Media on the forum, please advise what is being done about this false allegation and to unblock the website.

Try upgrading to the new version of PCGuard - now called Virgin Media Security and see if it still happens.

Re: Website Wrongly Blocked by PCguard as Fraudulent Web Site

Thanks, BenMcr. We'll try that but what about all the people who still use PCguard? They will see this notice and think my partner's website is fraudulent when it is not! Please can you pass this on to the attention of Virgin Media's security team to investigate. We'd really like to know why this has happened and what will be done to restore the good name of our website!

Re: Website Wrongly Blocked by PCguard as Fraudulent Web Site

Many thanks BenMcr for providing the link. We contacted Virgin Media Security and realising the mistake, they removed the block so that the site is no longer wrongly showing the fradulent site notice.

We still don't know why it was showing this notice in the first place but we are grateful to Virgin Media for acting quickly to resolve this. Our faith in the service has definitely been restored!
