If you’ve got V, V HD or V+ HD box can’t get a TV picture, here are few things you can try.

First thing is to check is that your set top box isn’t in standby. For the V and V+ HD boxes, press the power button on your remote, and you should immediately have a TV picture and sound.

If you’ve got a V HD box, it may take longer to come out of its standby options.

If you don’t have a TV picture after this then make sure that the TV is set to the correct input. If you’ve got a popular make of TV you can try one of the below links for help on changing the input.

Hitachi
LG
Panasonic
Samsung
Sony
Sharp
Toshiba

Tip: The AV button can be marked ‘AV’, ‘Source’ or ‘Input’ on your remote, or can sometimes be shown as a circle or square with an arrow through it.

If this doesn’t work there may be a connection or lead problem, does your V, V HD or V+ HD Remote Control LED light up when you change channel using the ↑ & ↓ buttons on the remote? Does a corresponding light appear on the front of the TiVo box when you press a button?

  • If not, check the batteries fully charged and inserted as shown on the diagram in the battery compartment.
  • If so, check the SCART / HDMI lead between the box and the TV is connected securely.

If you still don’t have a TV service maybe there’s a known outage in your area, or a fault with your set top box? Check out our Service status area for up to the minute service information, and a diagnostic tool that checks your set top box is working OK. If we identify a problem, you can arrange for an engineer to visit

Alternatively, give our team a call on 150 from a Virgin Media phone or mobile, or 0345 454 1111* from any other phone, and select option 2.
