Hi,
Just another voice to say that my lag has now gone with Rift. Back to 30ms instead of 500 - 15,000ms.
Game is perfectly playable now.
I guess come 5pm when the traffic management comes online it will come to a grinding halt once more.
Today (4th March) is the official Europe-wide retail launch date for Rift. There could be an influx of lots of very unhappy players tonight...
Thanks,
Mark.

Another RIFT player here who's game was unplayble between 17:00 & 00:00 yesterday. Was perfectly fine before, but ping was spkiking 500-6000+ with frequent disconnects in the hour I bothered trying to play.

Waiting to see what 5pm brings today.
I'm guessing another evening of bloody 400ms+ pings and having to play over a vpn AGAIN.

Here is a link on the BT forums. The same issue was there a few days ago. BT have sinced fixed it after talking to Trion (rift game)
This is kinda just intended for Virgin itself as we the customers can do nothing with this info. Still a good read though.

5pm rolls around and lo and behold.... rift is screwed...
well I can confirm the MTU fix works...
cheers virgin....

Intrestingly enough I just set my MTU to 900 and I have normal ping again.

Ping was perfect for playing rift (30ms or so) until 5pm. Low and behold, 1k+ suddenly.
This coupled with the constant price increases the past year are starting to knaw at me. If virgin don't sort this out they will most definately lose my business soon
