League of Legends and Virgin Media

Hey there VM,

 

I have had no issues with my net until recently, I have searched the net and found many familiar people with the exact same problem as me, I have posted this on the league of legends website, but I will post it here as well as you seemed to help some of the people who had this problem.

My net has actually been fine until recently, I guess I have been away for a month though, not sure when this started happening, but I hope it gets fixed soon! I'm a big fan of LoL as well as Virgin Media, I hope you guys can help me out!

As reported in other posts and on the LoL forums as well the problem is outside of the virgin media network.

Yes the problem is to do with where all the traffic goes from the UK.

 

When it leaves the UK to Riot's server's, it has to go through cognetco (which is a completely different company) and this company is the one which has the fault. It is outside of Virgin's realm i'm afraid.

Virgin Media will make contact with cogent to try and get them to FIX the problem but if Cohent are as rude to them as thay are to normal comsumers then I fear the problem will remain. :-(

Well I can only hope they try, I have never had the issue before, but at a high level of play, the game is now unplayable, and its not very nice for me, I read in other LoL posts that they have contacted them before and have actually gotten responses and fixes, I just hope mine can be fixed soon.

I too am suffering from the same issue and i know of dozens more in Cambridge also affected by this. My line is relatively stable and clean until its not....

 

Every 10 seconds I experience a 5 second complete freeze-lag in game that has nothing to do with my local setup,computer or RIOT's servers as we all know.

 

I also suffere from a different problem since the 11th of March which is still to be resolved in the Cambridge area as it has been 6 months now.... and ETA is end of OCTOBER!!!!

 

EPIC FAILURES all around.

 

I would like to frame a picture of VM quoting on my thread the ETA and proudly announcing how bad and understaffed all hardware problem solving is there.

Thanks for the information on this, I've created this new thread to gather together all the reports on this. If you're seeing this problem can you please drop a Traceroute and a Pathping to your Legend of Legends server into that thread. I'll post any updates I get on this issue there.
