Recently I have been having problems with my Xbox 360 and my Virgin media router, I am struggling to keep the connection between them for any more than 10-15 minutes at any one time even though they are connected via Ethernet cable! What could be the problem and how I can fix it?
Thought the 360 servers as well as the ps2 servers were shut down ? Could be the problem ? If not try the reset option or see if you can get 2ac router firmware is a lot better and have you try modem mode ?
connection with other devices are fine just Xbox 360, my biggest problem seems to be with Netflix! A programme will run for 5-10 minutes then the connection will drop and I have to restart the Xbox for connection to come back and doing this every 5-10 minutes isn't ideal, I've also done connection tests myself and everything comes back normal. I'll need to get a different cable and try the different ports. Also I wasn't aware that the servers were shut down? surely it wouldn't work at all then? and how do I put it in to "modem mode"?
PS2 did not have any servers. and Xbox 360 servers (Xbox Live) are still running and will be for some time as well as they are now also used with the Xbox 1 backwards compatibility e.g. you can now play Black Ops 1 on a Xbox One.
I do have a 360 but not got my VMDG485 activated (need to sort that one out) @Jen_A
I don't use netflix so can't test anyway.
