Virgin Media launches boss-level broadband for gamers

Download great off peek, but upload is stuck at 4.5Mbps all the time, I thought it was 200/20.

You could do a test at mid night with the super hub /hub in modem mode as a test to be sure its nothing else? If you have your own router you might of set limits and forgot or you have set limits for your own reason.

Re: Virgin Media launches boss-level broadband for gamers

Works great at 6 am 30 mins before I go to work, wired, no router (replacement on it way) just the SH 3, peak time oversubscribing is the problem, but with the new SH 3 its has got a lot worse, the hub takes ages to open its setting page, times out half the time, but support have blamed the over selling of the area on old out dated hardware. It like treacle at the moment, 12/0.2 not 220/20.

heyho, just logging all the info I can before taking the next step, I have started the 8 week process with CS.

Re: Virgin Media launches boss-level broadband for gamers

In the evening

This morning

The SH3 is terrible, its seriously crippled, its not fit for purpose and needs removing from the system or recalled until fixed. I never had problems like I am getting with the SH 2ac

It can be blamed for a lot of things but speed is not one of them.

Why you not choose not to run the speed test I link to? Is it because do you think all speed tests are the same? Or does my post some how link to http://www.speedtest.net yet I see http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html ?

Re: Virgin Media launches boss-level broadband for gamers

Looks like enough people in your area like to upload to bring the speed down from everyone and your download speed is based on that link I posted above.

Are you upstream on QAM 64 or still at QAM 16 ?

Re: Virgin Media launches boss-level broadband for gamers

So really how can they say old out dated hardware in your area when two QAM64 upstream channels is mostly what everyone else is on? Or maybe they can't add more? Their likely could be four upstream channels that they could bound all? Unless theirs a compelling reason not to?
