Re: Unstable ping, packet loss and all around bad connection

Hi Secretary

Thanks for getting back to me and responding to my PM Smiley Happy I've been able to look into this further and run some checks on your connection. Everything looks healthy with your hub and network segment at the moment and I can't see any fault tickets raised. How are things with your connection? Are you still seeing any issues?

Kind regards,

Ty

Re: Unstable ping, packet loss and all around bad connection

Hi Secretary,

Apologies that the packet loss is continuing.

Tests from here aren't revealing anything untoward so I wonder if you'd mind providing a more up-to-date TBB quality monitor?

Also, would you ran a traceroute and ping test (from the cmd prompt screen on your pc) to see if that can point to where on the network the packets are dropping?

Thanks Smiley Happy

Re: Unstable ping, packet loss and all around bad connection

Hi Secretary,

Thanks for providing all the details. Your ping test looks perfectly normal but your graph tells a different story! The trace looks fine though hop 9 looks to be quite busy but not really affecting your connection too much as the following hops return a decent time.

The next step is to try your hub in modem mode with a PC in safe mode with networking. This will narrow down the possible causes by eliminating background software on your PC, other devices on the network, wireless and the hubs router functions.
