hiya @Kaupus pritty much when the data leaves virginmedia network, out of their hands since routing via 3rd party companies..
looking at your traceroute your using a business connection so would be best to have a chat with customer services business http://www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/General/Contact-us/Customer-Services/ or phone -> 0800 953 0068

Re: Telecom Italia causing issues for new MMO Skyforge

a business connection? I'm a home user on the XXL (152MB) pacckage.

I've had a reply from Obsidian regarding their stance on the situation and it's as I feared. Basically their reply is "Not our problem, its with your ISP". And, as you've stated once the traffic leaves VM's network it's no longer their problem. So how the hell do I get this resolved? Any chance of an official response?

Paul mentioned it because of the second hop in your tracert - which goes through Virgin Media business.

1 76 ms 77 ms 8 ms cpc9-nail3-2-0-gw.18-1.cable.virginm.net [62.31
59.1]
2 6 ms 9 ms 8 ms 169.228-252-62.static.virginmediabusiness.co.uk
[62.252.228.169]

Rather than going through a residential link like mine does:

Tracing route to eu.portal.sf.my.com [185.30.178.63]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms <SNIP>
  2 9 ms 9 ms 10 ms <SNIP>.14-1.cable.virginm.net [<SNIP>]
  3 8 ms 10 ms 9 ms <SNIP>.network.virginmedia.net [<SNIP>]
  4 * ^C

Re: Telecom Italia causing issues for new MMO Skyforge

Hi Kaupus,

Welcome to the forum and sorry to see you're having trouble with Skyforge. As Paul said, the traffic through our network and the initial exchange looks perfectly fine so there isn't much we can do. I'll see about raising this to our networks team and see if there's anything we can help with from here but I fear we'll get the same response.

Re: Telecom Italia causing issues for new MMO Skyforge

Do not take the advice given here, this issue is for virgin media to sort not the game company.

You pay virgin media for a service its down to them to resolve no one els. But getting them to do such a thing is a god dam fing joke atm the people on these fourms have no power but to copy and paste you with reply.

file complains with the number provided if they dont resolve the issue raise it with a regulator.

You don't pay for for a pizza then have to go pick it up when the delivery driver gets stuck in traffic do you.

Virgin will do anything to not fix your issue. LAZY PEOPLE ARE LAZZY

Re: Telecom Italia causing issues for new MMO Skyforge

hiya @paulbarker well as John_G said, its onto the 3rd party to fix, do you expect virignmedia to travel to the location of those servers which is at:
Equinix, Inc.
One Lagoon Drive
4th Floor
Redwood City, CA 94065
UNITED STATES
since i used to own a private-server, if i blocked all virignmedia connections, that's my choice and if virignmedia's to request/demand to remove the block, i could simply say no.

Re: Telecom Italia causing issues for new MMO Skyforge

Thanks John_G.
I've seen this situation come up before with World of Warcraft and Rift. In the end it was the respective game companies (Blizzard and Trion)that ended up having to contact the ISP that was throttling traffic to their game servers for what ever reason but it always seems to be the case that they say its out of their hands and its down to the users ISP.
