Superhub 2 & PS4

Hi all,

I just received my new Superhub 2 through for the free 200mb upgrade.

I've set it all up and the PS4 is connected via LAN.

For some reason I'm getting this message:

The router in use might not support ip packet fragmentation

When running the PS4 connection test, and I never got this on the old Superhub.

Any suggestions as to what it is?

My NAT Type is 2.

Re: Superhub 2 & PS4

Are you hardwired directly into the superhub, or is it via powerline adapters?

Also, try lowering the MTU on the PS4 to below 1500 (1473 should do) and see if the issue occurs again.

  1. Navigate to [Settings] > [Network].
  2. Here you will find four (4) options, Choose [Set Up Internet Connection].
  3. Now choose either [Use Wi-Fi] or [Use LAN Cable]
    • If using Wi-Fi – Enter your existing access point password and continue below.
    • If using LAN – Continue below.
  4. Choose [Custom] on the next screen.
  5. Select your normal settings for IP Address Settings. (Note: If you do not know this setting use [Automatic].
  6. Select your normal settings for DHCP Host Name. (Note: If you do not know this setting use [Do Not Specify].
  7. Select your normal settings for DNS Settings. (Note: If you do not know this setting use [Automatic].
  8. Select [Manual] for MTU Settings.
  9. Press enter to pull up the keypad and enter a new value and press X.
    • First use the MTU value of 1473.
    • If the connection test is unsuccessful, try the MTU value of 1450.
  10. Select [Next] to continue.
  11. Select your normal settings for Proxy Server. (Note: If you do not know this setting use [Do Not Use].
  12. Next – [Test Internet Connection]
  13. You will see a value under (PSN Sign-In – Successful) if this process was successful.

Re: Superhub 2 & PS4

I'm connected via a powerline adapter that feeds into an ethernet switch box.
But even if I select Wireless, it still gives me the messge.
Will try the above and report back. Thanks for the reply. Smiley Happy

Re: Superhub 2 & PS4

Ok,

So I've done the following:

Wireless PS4

Wired PS4 through Powerline Adapter

Wired PS4 through Powerline Adapter going to Ethernet Switch

Changed MTU size to 1473 on the PS4

Changed MTU size to 1450 on the PS4

The same error message still comes up with regard to the IP Fragmentation?

Is there anything else I can do or am I all out of options now?

Re: Superhub 2 & PS4

You can run netalyzr and this will do a UDP fragmented test under UDP connectivity.

Re: Superhub 2 & PS4

I'll try that link, thanks.

Honestly, so disappoined with the Superhub 2.

I tried to plug my old Superhub 1 back in but it wouldnt work.

The Xbox One connects to it, but wont display any of the Store or online features and when I try to play Halo 5 online, it tells me I'm not able to connect to the lobbys.

I've ordered a Simple Wireless N Router from Amazon for tomorrow, If I put the Superhub 2 into Modem mode, should most of these issues go away when I set up the new Wireless router?

I have a technician coming out Tuesday evening so I'll run through all the problems with him then.

It didnt help that I had to bluetac the power button down on the Superhub2 to get it to stay on due to the button not actually working.

At this rate it makes me think the Superhub 2 I have is broken, as my friends have this Superhub 2 and none of them are seeing any of these issues.

Sigh, what a mess.

You have to ask to get that swapped over.

Re: Superhub 2 & PS4

Well, I'll see what the technician says on Tuesday.

I've bought this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MIFM3R8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I cant see that being a problem just to test it, I mean I dont do much downloading, and on my Powerlines I only hit about 50/ 60mpbs as it is.

Like I said cancel it you will not get your 200Mb with it you might as well get something more suitable like TP-LINK Archer C2 AC750.
