SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

I've had this same issue in the past. Basically my pathetic 'SuperHub' can even withstand wifi and Ethernet connections at the same time. Last time I lowered my wifi to 54Mbps and it seemed to work okay but now, after a few months it's disconnecting ALL the time. It's not even funny how bad this SuperHub is. I mean the Internet was made to work with a PC, that's a fact and this stupi box can't even handle it. I got the 100MB option last year for gaming and LOADS of Bandwidth and I can't even use my PC on it.

It's not even clear what the issue is. The hub works perfectly fine on just wifi but then as soon as I plug my PC in with the powerline adapters the hub dies inside, the lights stay on but no internet is output through wifi OR Ethernet/LAN. I've even turned off 2.4Ghz wifi because all of the 3 wireless devices in the house can use 5Ghz in an attempt to try and same bandwidth with the PC but nothing works and I'm trying so hard not to lose my sh*t here and type what I really think of this whole situation.

Basically I'm paying for a service and not getting what I'm paying for.

I bet it'll take about a year for VM to see this but by that time I'd probably be with SKY.

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

Update**

I got my new router, put super hub in modem mode and linked up my TPLink AC1200 router through my powerline adapters and it works a charm

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

I also turned off IP Flood Detection to see if that was maybe the issue but still nothing. I'm not calling up to be told 'turn it on and off again' or to even bother conversating with your 'tech specialists' that never know what they're talking about

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

Uuuuuuurgh!!!! I've began to unplug my Ethernet to my PC permanently now as on wifi the router is fine even with 1/2 of my powerline plugged into the router but not connected on the other half to my PC but still plugged in and on. Once I connect my PC I get maybe 3 minutes of Internet before the router kicks everything off even though all of the lights are on. There's just no reasoning behind this whatsoever and it's frustrating as hell! I bet virgin will immediately pass blame to the powerline adapters but they aren't the issue.

Looks like I'll have to get a new router and put the sh*thub in modem mode and connect my power lines to a more efficient router that can ACTUALLY serve its purpose -.- rather than Virgin spouting all this 'we're the fastest in the U.K.' Crap and giving their customers the worst router known to man.

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

Simple fix. Buy your own router and put SH into modem mode.

Running on 200Mb VM service with SH2 AC in Modem Mode, with a ASUS RT-N66U router. With this setup I get Fantastic WIRED and WIRELESS Signals in my home. I dont work for VM. But I work in IT, and I know my tech.
My advice is at your own risk.

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

Literally about to do that today. I hope it works, any good router recommendations? Roughly £25-£50

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

I use an ASUS RT-N66U, seen them for £85, your better off spending a little more, than buy a cheap nasty one.

I must repeat, again and again this is a work-around, not a fix.

VM supplied equipment SHOULD work.

If it doesn't, you're entitled to a full refund of your service and a disconnection without any disconnection charge.

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

Modem Mode is not a work around fix. VM give you the choice.

SH in router mode. Works for 95% of people who need to just email and web surf.

SH in modem mode. Best way for your home network. Best for Gaming. Your in FULL Control.

You are in no way in full control.

If you call up VM support and mention that you have your own router, they will not be helpful in any way and tell you to disconnect it before they can even bother to help you.

Also, why should customers fork out another £50 for a piece of equipment that your ISP should supply and should work?

Re: SuperHub + PC = Disconnection

Lets agree to disagree.

I myself prefer MODEM MODE, and guess what I don't have most of the problems people post on here.

Its also good I know my IT stuff.

Like I say SH in router mode is ok, for email and web surfing, its designed to be Idiot Proof.

95% of VM customers have No Network skills, and the ones that do are running in Modem Mode.
