Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

Since my purchase (7/3/16) of street fighter 5 I have been unable to log into the capcom servers.  I keep getting this message:

"Gameplay will continue in offline mode.
You must log in again to the server to use network functions.
*Please log in using the (LOG IN SYMBOL) Login option in the Main Menu."

I have found another instance where someone on Virgin Media is unable to connect.  There has to be a setting on the SuperHub 3 which is preventing the flow of information between game and server.

The other thread in question is here: https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/895976-street-fighter-v/73415614?page=1

If anyone has experienced this or knows how to get around the problem, please do make a suggestion.  I'm all ears!

For reference, I'm running the superhub 3 (as aforementioned) w/ 50mb broadband.  The current SFV update is the 1.01v.  NAT is 2 (moderate) and I have no trouble playing other games, or talking over playstation network.  I have tried reinstalling the game and the update (multiple times) with no luck.

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

If its only that game would that not indicate a problem with the game? Capcom hardly have the best reputation for their customer support.....

I run SH3 at the minute and really have had zero issues with connectivity across PC/Xbox/PS4 so I would be looking suspiciously at Capcom as the source of the issue.

If you want us to do some troubleshooting, can you post a trace route to the servers?

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

Currently going through port forwarding with VM.  Not sure if it will help.  Also they are sending out a second generation hub to see if that fixes it.

I would have no idea how to post a trace route to any servers...

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

I've discovered that Virgin Media and the Superhub3 must be the problem as it worked fine when I used my phone to tether my 4G to the PS4, I've since managed to log in and made a fighter ID and everything.  Problem now is that I can't rely on my phone's data allowance nor is the connection very clever although it does at least connect.

Any ideas what security on the hub could be blocking the communication between the ps4/capcom servers and my internet?

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

Hi Chilla,

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you're having trouble with Street fighter.

There are no blocks between us and capcoms servers, we have SF5 in the office and have had no trouble getting online. It sounds like you might be connecting wirelessly which is always advised against for a stable connection for gaming so I'd suggest trying a wired connection first of all.

The connection working through your phones tethering implies the issue could be with the route between your VM connection and the capcom server but we'd need to see a traceroute to confim.

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

Hi and thanks for your reply.  I have tried having it hard lined, I've tried splitting the 2G and 5Ghz wifis, I've tried port forwarding, tried adding the ps4 to DMZ, tried removing all firewall security on the router, tried resetting the router, tried modem mode with a 3rd party router and nothing has worked.

If you can advise how to perform a traceroute or how I can arrange for this to be done?

I performed this traceroute to capcom japan... not sure if this is the correct server mind.

See below:

Traceroute has started…

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

Hi Chilla,

Thanks for posting the trace. It looks fairly normal on the UK side. I'm not 100% sure what the expected latency to Japan would be but 300ms seems pretty high even for that distance.

I've tried to check for a UK or EU server for the game but can only find articles on heavy launch day traffic though these are almost a month old so shouldn't still be a problem.

It sounds like you've tried everything from your side so I suspect the issue to be with the route to the server.

It may be worth contacting Capcom support to see if this is an issue they are aware of.

Re: Street Fighter V (5) Unable to Log In To Servers

Solved it... to anyone wondering how you must go to settings on your ps4, set up internet connection.  Then select either wifi or lan whichever you're using.  Then go to custom.  Then IP settings automatic unless you've changed them to static for port forwarding then leave it as your static IP.  DHCP host name = Do not specify unless once again you have changed it yourself.  In the DNS settings, change it to manual then make the primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and the secondary DNS 8.8.4.4.  Any MTU settings set at automatic (unless you changed it) and proxy server as do not use (unless you changed it)  Save settings, load game and bingo bango bongo!

Happy hadoakening!

Thank you so much Chilla! This fixed it for me, I'll forward this post to the capcom unity forum as a few other people have the same issue. Thanks again for your hard work
