Port Forwarding - Xbox One

Hello,

I've been getting a bad connection on my Xbox One and have been advised to try forwarding on my Hub 3.0

Ports I'm trying are 53,80,88,500,3074,3544,3659,4500 on both UDP and TCP

On the port forwarding page I'm putting 53 on each of the options (Local start port, Local end port, External start port, External end port) and when I click to add the rule I get the same error message for all of them:
The configured port range cannot contain one of the following reserved ports.

Can anyone help?
Cheers

Re: Port Forwarding - Xbox One

Hi Druw,

Thanks for taking the time to post on the community.

Sorry to read you are having an issue with Port Forwarding.

On the Port Forwarding page, have you entered an IP address? Also is the firewall showing as enabled?

Let us know how you get on

Sam

Yes, the firewall is enabled and I'm entering my Xbox's IP.
Just doubled checked it all again, still getting the same error.

Re: Port Forwarding - Xbox One

Hiya Druw,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've looked further into this and with port number 53, this is part of our reserved list so this could be the reason for the error message you are seeing.

If you try the other numbers you want to open, do they go through ok?

Regards

Sam

Re: Port Forwarding - Xbox One

Morning Druw,

I appreciate the reply.

It does look like port 53 is part of our reserved list so you won't need to add this manually. If you set up port forwarding for the other port numbers does this help with your connection on the Xbox One?

In regards to port 53, you can check this link for more information if you wish > Port 53.

Speak soon

Sam
