Playing HotS is impossible - how should I interpret this pathping please?

Hi guys,

I am having some crazy issues playing Heroes of the Storm with massive, unplayable lag spikes constantly.

I have tried powercycling, several restarts of all equipment, shutting down all other connected devices and just running a cable to my computer, but nothing helps.

I tried to do a pingpath to Blizzard's EU servers with the following results:

Tracing route to 213-155-155-233.customer.teliacarrier.com [213.155.155.233]

2 10.31.56.1
3 brnt-core-2b-xe-023-0.network.virginmedia.net [80.2.147.177]

Now obviously I am getting packet loss at hop 2, but what does this hop refer to? I don't know what that IP is, or what it tells me about my problem.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Cheers

EDIT: Also added a tracert:

Re: Playing HotS is impossible - how should I interpret this pathping please?

Being that you got info on hop 3, it would indicate hop 2 wasn't losing packets, rather just not responding to ping requests.

Re: Playing HotS is impossible - how should I interpret this pathping please?

Hello benjaminmin

Welcome to the forum, so sorry you are having problems playing Heroes of the Storm, we will take a look.

The traceroutes you provided as Shafreya kindly suggested do not tell us a lot really however I may have found the reason.

Your line and hub test good but we do have a problem in the area with high traffic in the evenings. We are planning to undertake some broadband upgrades to support the increased demand for our services in your area. When completed, any slow speeds you may be experiencing (particularly at peak times such as evenings and weekends) will be resolved.

We are looking to carry out the work as soon as possible, in the meantime please give us a call 150/0345 4541111 to discuss a loss of service credit quoting reference F003512701.

Thank you
Nicola
