Ping over 600- and general poor speeds?

Hi,

I've noticed my download speed has been consistently struggling at a lowly 5mbs, and whilst gaming online (via ethernet cable) my ping seems to be anywhere between 200-600. If anything can be done about this- that'd be great. If you need any further info, please do ask.

Put some hub stats on please go to http://192.168.0.1 don't login but click router status, paste the info from downstream, upstream and network log, don't worry about formatting we can make sense of it, also it might be worth setting up a thinkbroadband ping monitor (google it) also you will need to actually login to the router and disable the firewall for this to work, but it can detect any lag problems you may be having (I suggest any gamer that is reading this set one up for you sort of users it is invaluable)

Re: Ping over 600- and general poor speeds?

Hello DanChamney

Welcome to our forum, I am sorry about the slow speeds and lag. Is it only a peak time issue, for example in the evening, if so we do have a problem with high peak time traffic on your segment I am afraid. We are already aware of it ref F004609317 and would like to carry out some upgrade work. The review date is currently showing 25 JAN 2017. Please accept our apologies and if you would be so kind to wait a few days one of the forum team will be in contact to discuss further.

The DHCP renew in the modem log is not a problem it is just due to how we renew the IP address and it is okay to have the odd T3 timeout particularity on a busy CMTS, historically the area upstreams are looking okay.

Thank you for your patience

Nicola
